I love the idea of using music to teach poetry. In a recent lesson that I did with my boys we used a song by CAKE (Short skirt, long jacket) to discuss simile and metaphor. The song has many great examples. “I want a girl with a mind like a diamond, she’s as sharp as a tack” etc.
